Sura: AL‑BAQARAH

Aya : 250

And when they went forth to [face] Goliath and his soldiers, they said, "Our Lord, pour upon us patience and plant firmly our feet and give us victory over the disbelieving people."

Sura: AL‑BAQARAH

Aya : 251

So they defeated them by permission of AllŒh, and David killed Goliath, and AllŒh gave him the kingship and wisdom [i.e., prophethood] and taught him from that which He willed. And if it were not for AllŒh checking [some] people by means of others, the earth would have been corrupted, but AllŒh is the possessor of bounty for the worlds.

Sura: ĀLI ‘IMRĀN

Aya : 123

And already had AllŒh given you victory at [the battle of] Badr while you were weak [i.e., few in number]. Then fear AllŒh; perhaps you will be grateful.

Sura: ĀLI ‘IMRĀN

Aya : 124

[Remember] when you said to the believers, "Is it not sufficient for you that your Lord should reinforce you with three thousand angels sent down?

Sura: ĀLI ‘IMRĀN

Aya : 125

Yes, if you remain patient and conscious of AllŒh and they [i.e., the enemy] come upon you [attacking] in rage, your Lord will reinforce you with five thousand angels having marks [of distinction]."

Sura: ĀLI ‘IMRĀN

Aya : 126

And AllŒh made it not except as [a sign of] good tidings for you and to reassure your hearts thereby. And victory is not except from AllŒh, the Exalted in Might, the Wise

Sura: ĀLI ‘IMRĀN

Aya : 127

That He might cut down a section of the disbelievers or suppress them so that they turn back disappointed.

Sura: AL‑ANFĀL

Aya : 10

And AllŒh made it not but good tidings and so that your hearts would be assured thereby. And victory is not but from AllŒh. Indeed, AllŒh is Exalted in Might and Wise.

Sura: AT-TAWBAH

Aya : 25

AllŒh has already given you victory in many regions and [even] on the day of îunayn, when your great number pleased you, but it did not avail you at all, and the earth was confining for you with [i.e., in spite of] its vastness; then you turned back, fleeing.

Sura: AT-TAWBAH

Aya : 26

Then AllŒh sent down His tranquility upon His Messenger and upon the believers and sent down soldiers [i.e., angels] whom you did not see and punished those who disbelieved. And that is the recompense of the disbelievers.

Sura: YŪSUF

Aya : 110

[They continued] until, when the messengers despaired and were certain that they had been denied, there came to them Our victory, and whoever We willed was saved. And Our punishment cannot be repelled from the people who are criminals.

Sura: AL‑ḤAJJ

Aya : 39

Permission [to fight] has been given to those who are being fought,[1] because they were wronged. And indeed, AllŒh is competent to give them victory.

1- Referring here to the Prophet's companions.

Sura: AN-NAML

Aya : 34

She said, "Indeed kings when they enter a city, they ruin it and render the honored of its people humbled. And thus do they do.

Sura: AR-RŪM

Aya : 2

The Byzantines have been defeated[1]

1- By the Persians.

Sura: AR-RŪM

Aya : 3

In the nearest land.[1] But they, after their defeat, will overcome

1- Another meaning is "in the lowest land."

Sura: AR-RŪM

Aya : 4

Within three to nine years. To AllŒh belongs the command [i.e., decree] before and after. And that day the believers will rejoice

Sura: AR-RŪM

Aya : 5

In the victory of AllŒh.[1] He gives victory to whom He wills, and He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.

1- i.e., the victory given by AllŒh to a people of the Scripture (Christians) over the Magians of Persia.

Sura: AS-SAJDAH

Aya : 28

And they say, "When will be this conquest,[1] if you should be truthful?"

1- Or "decision," i.e., judgement.

Sura: AS-SAJDAH

Aya : 29

Say, [O Muúammad], "On the Day of Conquest the belief of those who had disbelieved will not benefit them, nor will they be reprieved."

Sura: AL‑FATḤ

Aya : 1

Indeed, We have given you, [O Muúammad], a clear conquest[1]

1- Ibn MasÔ´d said, "You [people] consider the conquest to be that of Makkah, but we consider it to be the Treaty of al-îudaybiyyah." Al-BukhŒr¥ reported a similar quotation from al-BarŒÕ bin Ôzib. Although initially regarded by the companions as a setback, the treaty, in effect, served to promote the spread of IslŒm, which led to the conquest of Makkah two years later.

Sura: AL‑FATḤ

Aya : 3

And [that] AllŒh may aid you with a mighty victory.

Sura: AL‑FATḤ

Aya : 18

Certainly was AllŒh pleased with the believers when they pledged allegiance to you, [O Muúammad], under the tree, and He knew what was in their hearts, so He sent down tranquility upon them and rewarded them with an imminent conquest[1]

1- That of Khaybar, which preceded the conquest of Makkah.

Sura: AL‑FATḤ

Aya : 19

And much war booty which they will take. And ever is AllŒh Exalted in Might and Wise.

Sura: AL‑FATḤ

Aya : 20

AllŒh has promised you much booty that you will take [in the future] and has hastened for you this [victory] and withheld the hands of people from you that it may be a sign for the believers and [that] He may guide you to a straight path.

Sura: AL‑FATḤ

Aya : 21

And [He promises] other [victories] that you were [so far] unable to [realize] which AllŒh has already encompassed.[1] And ever is AllŒh, over all things, competent.

1- i.e., prepared for you or decreed.

Sura: AL‑FATḤ

Aya : 27

Certainly has AllŒh showed to His Messenger the vision [i.e., dream] in truth. You will surely enter al-Masjid al-îarŒm, if AllŒh wills, in safety, with your heads shaved and [hair] shortened,[1] not fearing [anyone]. He knew what you did not know and has arranged before that a conquest near [at hand].

1- i.e., having completed the rites of Ôumrah.

Sura: AL‑MUJĀDILAH

Aya : 21

AllŒh has written [i.e., decreed], "I will surely overcome, I and My messengers." Indeed, AllŒh is Powerful and Exalted in Might.

Sura: AṢ-ṢAFF

Aya : 13

And [you will obtain] another [favor] that you love victory from AllŒh and an imminent conquest; and give good tidings to the believers.

Sura: AN-NAṢR

Aya : 1

When the victory of AllŒh has come and the conquest,[1]

1- The conquest of Makkah.
